Learn about 2020 work on Highway 47 at open house Nov. 7 in Isle

Plan for detours between Isle and Ogilvie

BAXTER, Minn. — Those who travel on Highway 47 in Mille Lacs and Kanabec counties are invited to attend an open house to learn more about a 2020 road project that will provide a smoother road surface and improve motorist safety.

The open house will be held 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Isle Recreation Education Center at 610 Mille Lacs Avenue, Isle. Guests will learn more about the 2020 project detours, see project layouts, have an opportunity to ask questions and take home information. There is no formal presentation and guest are invited to arrive anytime.

The estimated $14.1 million project will reconstruct 22 miles of road surface and improve drainage between Highway 27 in Isle and Highway 23 in Ogilvie in. The project will also reconstruct two bridges near Kanabec County Road 25/Ann Lake, install turn lanes and replace or repair culverts. Work will begin in spring 2020 and will require detours.
