Current impacts
Information is subject to change. Project update (Aug. 20)
Through traffic detour
Hwy 55 closed between Brown Ave. and Annandale Blvd. until mid-October
- Detour: Wright Co. Rd. 3, County Rd. 39, Hwy 24 and Co. Rd. 6 (PNG)
- Important note: MnDOT urges drivers who are just passing through to use the detour. This helps keep Annandale accessible and makes travel smoother within the work area.

Local traffic
Hwy 55 open only to those who live, visit or work in Annandale; however, expect these changes:
- Gravel surfaces, narrow lanes with no shoulders, lane shifts, slow or stopped traffic with flaggers controlling traffic, and heavy equipment entering and exiting work areas
- Pedestrian sidewalk closures, follow sign
- Expect segments of hard closures at times to work on access or structures beneath the road; follow signs to next available access
Current work
Hwy 55 Brown Ave. to Poplar Ave.
Crews continue to reconstruct the west end of the project from Brown Ave. to east of Oak Ave. Expect changes and lane shifts in this area through mid-October:
- Harrison Ave./Oak Ave. (Hwy 24) closed Aug. 20-22
- Crews will install new drainage pipes and replace unsuitable materials to make a solid base for the road. They will return in a few weeks to pour the median curb island up to the railroad tracks.
- Excelsior Ave. open
- This intersection will remain an all-way stop until they connect the new signal system in September.
Hwy 55 Poplar Ave to Annandale Blvd.
Crews are working on the southside road surface. When complete in early October, the widened road will have a new center left-turn lane.
