About the project

MnDOT will resurface, repair and update a three-mile segment of Hwy 210 (Hwy 6) from east of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby to east of Hwy 6 in Deerwood and reconstruct a half-mile segment in Deerwood.

Summary of work

Crosby to Deerwood

  • Resurface the road (asphalt) from east of Third Ave. E in Crosby to E Broadway in Deerwood and from Ruggles Ave. to east of junction Hwy 6 in Deerwood:
    • Repair or replace drainage pipes or ditches
    • Install new road markings and rumble/mumble strips
    • Update or repair guardrail
    • Make other necessary repairs

In Deerwood

  • Reconstruct and update the road from E Broadway to Ruggles Ave. in Deerwood, includes the intersection of Hwy 210 (Hwy 6) and Co. Rd. 12
    • Reconstruct the road surface (asphalt) and update entrances
    • Replace or repair underground stormwater structures and curb and gutter
    • Upgrade or add pedestrian sidewalk, road/walk approaches and crossings
    • Make other necessary repairs

Recent area improvements

  • Crow Wing County constructed a new roundabout at Hwy 210 and Co. Rd. 31 (Cuyuna Rd.) in 2023
  • Hwy 210 paved road surface, updated sidewalks and entrances through Crosby-Ironton in 2021
  • Hwy 210 concrete surface repairs Deerwood to Aitkin in 2021
