Current impacts

All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent. Expect roadwork on Hwy 23 between Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 2 just east of Hwy 169 in Milaca and Co. Rd. 1 in Bock.

Hwy 23 closed to work under the road between Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 2 and Co. Rd. 1.

Local traffic

• Access will be open to those who live, work or visit those along Hwy 23
  • Expect changes and use of alternate accesses
  • Enter and exit the work zone from your nearest destination
• Hard closures will occur to:
  1. Replace underground pipe between 78th Ave. and 165th St., west of Bock - July 15-26
  2. Install left turn lanes on Hwy 23 at 90th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 144
  3. Realign 100th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 101 east of Milaca and install left turn lanes on Hwy 23
• Expect segments of lane closures, alternate one-way traffic, flaggers and pilot car until early October

Bock to Ogilvie open

All lanes opened to all travelers July 12; work complete

About this project

MnDOT will resurface and improve 12 miles of Hwy 23 from Milaca to east of Ogilvie, which includes shoulders, underground drainage structures and updates to access.

Summary of work

• Resurface (asphalt) road and shoulders
• Update access:
  • Realign 100th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 101 east of Milaca and install left turn lanes on Hwy 23
  • Install left turn lanes on Hwy 23 at 90th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 144
• Replace three drainage structures:
  • Pipe between 78th Ave. and 165th St., west of Bock
  • Box bridge east of Cable St./Kanabec Co. Rd. 52, east of Bock
  • Box bridge at South Fork Groundhouse River between 50th Ave. and Bear St., east of Bock
