Community input sought as part of Highway 60 Lake Crystal Transportation Study

MnDOT to attend Lake Crystal Cruz ‘IN event September 19 to gather community feedback

MANKATO, Minn. — As part of a transportation study on Highway 60 through Lake Crystal, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will be at the Cruz ‘IN Lake Crystal event on Thursday, September 19 from 4 – 8 p.m. in Marston Park (110 N. Main St., Lake Crystal).

The public is invited to stop by the MnDOT table at the event to learn more about the study, and to share issues, ideas and opportunities along the Highway 60 corridor. Those unable to attend can complete an online survey, which can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/Hwy60LakeCrystal, or stop by the Lake Crystal Chamber of Commerce where paper copies are located.

Public input is an integral part of the Highway 60 Lake Crystal transportation study, which will reflect the current and future transportation needs of the community. With input from the city of Lake Crystal, local residents and businesses, and other project stakeholders, MnDOT will evaluate the corridor, develop design alternatives, and arrive at a preliminary layout for a future Highway 60 roadway project, which is currently planned for 2024.

Throughout the year-long study, the community will have opportunities to provide feedback on the corridor as well as the design alternatives. Opportunities for public input will be listed on the project website mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy60lakecrystal.
