No travel advised on three additional road segments in Renville County

WILLMAR, Minn. – (7:30 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is advising no travel on the following road segments due to blowing snow and whiteout conditions:

  • Highway 4 – Hector to Fairfax
  • Highway 19 – Morton to Fairfax
  • U.S. Highway 212 – Olivia to Hector

Several no travel advisories have been issued for parts of southwest Minnesota today, and include all or portions of Lac qui Parle, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Yellow Medicine, Renville, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Redwood, Pipestone and Meeker counties.

State snowplows in southwest Minnesota will continue to operate until 11:00 p.m. tonight.  However, motorists are advised not to travel until conditions improve. As the storm continues to progress, we may experience no travel advisories in other portions of southwest Minnesota.

The public can view winter road conditions from plow cameras available through the www.511mn.org website. Please note that not all plows have cameras. Road conditions on major highways can also be viewed through the Road Weather Information System (RWIS), which is also part of 511.
