Public Meeting scheduled for June 22 about the I-90/Hwy 52 interchange reconstruction project
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to attend an in-person public meeting on June 22 to learn more about a project to reconstruct the Interstate 90/Hwy 52 interchange southeast of Rochester, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The meeting will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at the Marion Road Christian Church (4051 50th Ave. SE, Rochester, MN 55904 – Exit 47 off Hwy 52). The public meeting will include two brief presentations from project staff at 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. The same information will be shared at both presentations.
People unable to attend the in-person meeting will be able to review information and displays from the meeting afterward on the project website and provide comments on the plans.
MnDOT is planning to replace the I-90 bridges over Hwy 52, construct a new ramp for southbound Hwy 52 to eastbound I-90, reconstruct all ramps and loops and replace large culverts under interchange ramps. During the meeting, MnDOT and its consultant will present information about plans for the construction project, which is scheduled for 2024-2025. The project is expected to improve safety on the interchange ramps and intersections, increase clearance under the I-90 bridges over Hwy 52 and improve traffic flow and reduce traffic delays through the interchange, which is a busy commuter and freight route.
To learn more about the project, visit the MnDOT project website at mndot.gov/d6/projects/i90-hwy52, where you can also sign up for email and text message updates, review information and follow up after the meeting.
