Weekend closure of southbound I-35W in Minneapolis and Roseville begins September 15

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Starting Friday, Sept. 15, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close southbound Interstate I-35W between Highway 280 and Interstate 94 in Minneapolis and Roseville. Construction crews need this closure to make bridge repairs, repair pavement, remove graffiti, and repair guardrails.

Beginning at 10:00 p.m. Fri., Sept. 15 through 5 a.m. Mon., Sept. 18, southbound I-35W will be closed between Highway 280 and I-94. While this road closure is in place, motorists can use southbound Highway 280 to westbound I-94 as a detour route.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slowdown in work zones where workers are present.
