I-35 ramp closures at Lake Avenue Oct. 2 and 3

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be closing the I-35 southbound ramp at Lake Avenue and 5th Avenue West (exit 256B) on Monday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 3 during daytime work hours for drainage structure repair work. Traffic will be unable to access the frontage road past the Lake Avenue exit and will be directed on to Lake Avenue to Superior Street. On Tuesday, Oct. 2, the onramp from Lake Avenue to I-35 northbound will be closed for one day. Traffic will be detoured on Railroad Street to the 5th Avenue West onramp.

Drainage structure repair work on both northbound and southbound I-35 will continue through Oct. 22. Motorists should expect daytime shoulder and lane closures where work is occurring.
