Highway 73 detour south of Highway 1 starts June 9
DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be placing a detour for through traffic on Highway 73 south of Highway 1 starting on June 9 for pavement resurfacing work. The road closure will be between mile posts 110 and 112.5 and is expected to be in place through July 25. The marked detour route will be County Road 22 to Highway 53 to Highway 1. Access for residents will be maintained during construction.
This 19-mile work zone is located between Johnson Road and Highway 1 on Highway 73. All project work is expected to be complete in late September.

- Obey posted speed limits. The fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.

- Move over. Give workers room to safely complete their work.
