Northbound I-535/Blatnik Bridge overnight closure, Sept. 15-16

DULUTH, Minn. –The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be closing northbound I-535 at the Blatnik Bridge beginning at 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, for crews to complete lane reconfiguration work as part of the Twin Ports Interchange Project.

Motorists headed towards Duluth will encounter closures in Superior, WI at Hammond Avenue and at the ramp from Highway 53 onto the I-535 Blatnik Bridge. During this closure an in-place detour will follow the Highway 2 Bong Bridge. Crews will also be working to complete lane reconfiguration on southbound (Superior bound) I-535, but southbound traffic will not be impacted.

Northbound I-535 will reopen at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, to single lane. Weather permitting, the currently closed off-ramp onto Garfield Avenue from the Blatnik Bridge may reopen at the same time.
