Hwy 55 signal replacement and pedestrian updates in Hastings begins Sept. 22

ROSEVILLE, Minn. —Crews will close eastbound Highway 55 from Pleasant Drive to Westview Drive in Hastings to remove and replace the traffic signals and pedestrian ramps, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, eastbound Highway 55 will be closed between Pleasant Drive and Westview Drive, and is expected to reopen Friday, Sept. 26.

During this closure there will be a signed primary detour using southbound General Sieben Drive to eastbound County Road 47/Vermillion Road to northbound Highway 61/Great River Road to Highway 55. There will also be a signed truck detour using Southbound County Road 85/Goodwin Avenue to eastbound County Road 46/160th Street to eastbound County Road 47/Vermillion Road to northbound Highway 61/Great River Road to Highway 55. And, for motorists accessing businesses on the southside of Highway 55 a signed detour using southbound General Sieben Drive to eastbound West 9th Street/South Frontage Road to Highway 55.

Once work is complete on eastbound Highway 55 in late Sept., crews will then close westbound Highway 55 between Westview Drive and Pleasant Drive. The project is anticipated to be complete in October.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
