Eastbound Interstate 94 east of Alexandria reopens to traffic; lane closures in both directions
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is wrapping up the bridge replacement project on eastbound Interstate 94 near Alexandria, and today, Monday, Sept. 15, eastbound traffic shifts back to the eastbound lanes. In the upcoming weeks, motorists will encounter alternating lane closures in both directions to allow crews to finish miscellaneous work and begin removing crossovers and other traffic control devices.
Traffic has been head-to-head through the project area since April, as crews replaced the eastbound bridges over the CP Railway and County Road 23. This work was a continuation of the bridge replacements and resurfacing work that took place on the westbound side last year.
