MnDOT to host Oct. 27 public meeting on Hwy 93 Henderson project

MANKATO, Minn. —The Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold a public construction meeting Monday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 6 pm at Henderson City Hall, 600 Main Street, to share updates on the 2024-26 Hwy 93 Henderson reconstruction project.
MnDOT staff and the contractor will be available to provide construction updates and answer questions.
The 2024-26 project includes:

  • Raising Hwy 93 approximately eight feet, placing it one foot above historic high-water events
  • Reconstructing 3.6 miles of Hwy 93 from Hwy 169 to Elm St. in Henderson
  • Replacing the Rush River Bridge
  • Constructing an additional overflow bridge to improve Rush River flood relief

Hwy 93 has been closed since April 15, 2024, with traffic detoured to Hwys 169 and 19. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2026. Schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. 
S.M. Hentges & Sons was awarded the project with a bid of $30,606,833.65.
