MnDOT to host public meeting in Hastings for 2027-2029 Hwy 61 reconstruction project on Nov. 18
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the Hastings community to learn about the 2027-2029 reconstruction project on Highway 61 between just north of 3rd Street and just south of 36th Street on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hastings City Hall, Council Chambers, 101 4th St. E., Hastings. There will be a brief presentation at the start of the meeting followed by an open house format. This meeting is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the project, view visual displays, and speak with project staff.
MnDOT is reconstructing this portion of Hwy 61 to improve safety, traffic flow and reduce congestion, replace the Todd Field wall, construct new full-sized roundabouts at Highway 316 and 36th St., add a traffic signal at the intersection of Hwy 61 and 18th Street, improve accessibility, and update drainage.
