MnDOT to host Highway 34 Park Rapids public open house Nov. 18
Bemidji, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host an open house for the Highway 34 corridor study on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Park Rapids City Hall, 212 Second St. W.
The study focuses on Highway 34 between Western Ave. S. and east of Hubbard County Road 4. Separate from the Highway 71 corridor study, this visioning effort will identify longer-term goals and other potential improvements like pedestrian crossing needs. A resurfacing project on Highway 34 is anticipated in the next seven to 10 years.
“We are conducting two separate studies,” said Stephen Frisco, project manager. “The Highway 34 and 71 corridors are vital to the community and they each have very different needs. By having two separate studies it allows us to focus the right attention on each.”
Project staff will be available to share study information, answer questions and gather public input. There is no formal presentation; attendees may arrive anytime. Get involved, learn more and share feedback at the project website: talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy-34-corridor-study-in-park-rapids.
