Overnight closure of northbound I-35W in Burnsville set for May 7-8
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Northbound Interstate 35W will close between I-494 and the I-35E/I-35W split in Burnsville beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 7 through 4 a.m. Friday, May 8, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
This closure allows crews to safely shift northbound I-35W traffic onto the new southbound side of the Cliff Road bridge.
During this closure, motorists can use I-35, I-35E, Highway 77 and I-494.
This work is part of a larger project to resurface I-35W and repair or replace bridges between Cliff Road and the I-35E/I-35W spilt. Once completed, this stretch of I-35W will have a smoother road surface and an extended bridge and pavement life.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
