Sustainable Transportation Advisory Council

The Sustainable Transportation Advisory Council (STAC) was created in February 2020 following recommendations from the 2019 Pathways to Decarbonizing Transportation project. Its goal was to help MnDOT reduce carbon pollution from transportation in alignment with state goals for energy and emissions reductions, while emphasizing equity and environmental justice. The STAC aimed to support Minnesota’s transition to a low-carbon transportation system, improving safety, reducing inequities and fostering economic development.

In September 2023, STAC members agreed to pause the recruitment for a 2024-2025 cohort, and no meetings are currently scheduled for 2025. MnDOT will reassess STAC options after the legislative session.

At the September 2023 STAC meeting, members supported pausing the recruitment of a 2024-2025 STAC cohort. Currently no STAC meetings are scheduled for 2025. MnDOT will revisit options for the STAC following the legislative session.
