Detour begins Mon, July 6
MnDOT will reconstruct and improve Hwy 27 (Main St.) from east of Chippewa Ave. to east of Fourth St. W in Wahkon, Mille Lacs County. Sign-up for construction project email updates.
Prep work
- Motorists may encounter shoulder closures and flashing equipment along area roads as crews prepare for roadwork after the Fourth of July weekend. This could include utility companies, surveyors and soil testing.
Highlights
- Reconstruct the road surface
- Install curb and gutter and add underground storm sewer
- Add or update sidewalks and pedestrian approaches
- Add bike lanes along both sides of road
- Landscape and install aesthetics to enhance the downtown boulevard
