Upcoming traffic impacts

When construction starts up in 2025, work will begin on Stage 2B on Highway 59.
  • Construction resumes May 2 on Highway 59!
  • Work will start on Highway 59, north of Fifth Avenue NE up to Eighth Avenue NW in Stage 2B
    • Automated traffic signal will be installed on both sides of the work zone to direct traffic one lane at a time. Your patience is important!
    • There will be a thru-traffic detour set up for truck traffic and those who are seeking an alternate route around construction
  • Starting April 28: Bridge crews will be completing work at the bridge over the Pelican River downtown. Expect parking and sidewalk restrictions on the east side of the bridge.
  • In May, work will resume on Highway 108 east, too!

Construction schedule

Construction will be completed in phases, starting in April 2024 through Fall 2025. All work and schedules are weather dependent.

  • Starting May 2 Stage 2B: Hwy 59, Fifth Ave NE to Eighth Ave NW
  • Starting in mid-May Stage 4A & 4B: Hwy 108 east, 2 1/2 Street to 6th Street
