• I-494 is closed in both directions between Blaine Ave. and Babcock Trail
  • Westbound I-494 detour: Northbound Hwy 52 to Mendota Rd. to southbound Hwy 52 to westbound 494 (PNG)
  • Eastbound I-494 detour: Southbound Hwy 52 to eastbound 70th St. to Northbound Hwy 52 to eastbound I-494 (PNG)
• Westbound 70th St. is closed at Hwy 52

Lane closures

Mon, April 21 through Tue, July 22

• Northbound Hwy 52 is reduced to one lane between north of Upper 55th St. and south of Mendota Rd./Southview Blvd.
• Southbound Hwy 52 is reduced to two lanes between Mendota Rd./Southview Blvd. and Upper 55th St.

About this project

We will be redecking and repainting the Hwy 52 bridges over I-494 in 2025 to extend the lifespan of the bridges. This work is happening now to take advantage of IIJA funding made available to the State.
