All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent. Construction activities on Hwy 65 between 147th Ave. and Bunker Lake Blvd. are suspended for the winter and traffic will be two lanes in each direction through the winter.

Final construction at the SB Coon Creek bridges and Hwy 65 between 147th Ave./Andover Blvd. in Ham Lake resumes in spring 2025. Final completion is planned for early July 2025, before the July 4 holiday weekend.

Upcoming

Information about upcoming traffic impacts will be posted as details become available. During the spring of 2025, motorists can again expect lane shifts and single lane, head-to-head traffic on NB Hwy 65 between 147th Ave./Andover Blvd. as crews remove temporary culverts beneath the southbound roadway and finish repairs and resurfacing.

Road closures

Sun, April 6 through late May
  • 143rd Ave. is fully closed at Hwy 65
    • EB 143rd Ave. detour: North on Hwy 65, east on 147th Ave. and south on Aberdeen St.
    • WB 143rd Ave. detour: South on Hwy 65, west on Bunker Lake Blvd. and north on Lincoln St.

Lane closures

11 a.m. Sun, April 6 through Fri, May 30
  • Hwy 65 is reduced to one lane in both directions between Bunker Lake Blvd. and 147th Ave./Andover Blvd.
    • Motorists will encounter head-to-head traffic during this closure until mid-May

Traffic delays expected

Travel will be delayed during construction:

  • Plan your trip before you leave and give yourself plenty of extra time. Try to travel outside of rush hour times.
  • Explore a route that isn’t affected by the road work. Look for a different highway route that doesn’t use Hwy 65. Even a longer alternate route may take less time when you consider construction impacts.
  • For the safety of area residents, follow ALL posted detours and avoid cutting through local neighborhoods.
  • Your regular route may be affected. Check the project webpage frequently for updated ramp and road closures, and recommended detours.
  • If possible, try carpooling to destinations along Hwy 65
  • Consider working from home.
  • Cabin and vacation travelers who normally take Hwy 65 should consider using another route such as I-35W or Hwy 47.
